Poonam Ganglani

is an independent publishing consultant, books editor and writer with over a decade of experience. Poonam was the managing editor at a top publishing house in Dubai for seven years and is currently based in Chennai, India.

Poonam works with aspiring writers, guiding them in every step of their journey—from mentoring them about the various avenues available to them, to helping them navigate the book publishing landscape effectively.

As a books editor, Poonam helps authors shape, develop and hone their manuscripts, both for works of fiction and non-fiction, with the objective of getting them published.

Poonam also works with cultural organisations, helping them conceptualise, execute and publish their book projects. Over the past decade, Poonam has worked on over 100 book projects across genres.

Poonam is also a freelance writer with a focus on books, arts and culture. Her work has been published in Arts Illustrated, The Hindu, The Indian Quarterly, Huffington Post India, Culturama, Open Skies and New Theatre Quarterly by Cambridge University Press.

Poonam was one of 25 scholars selected worldwide for a full EU scholarship master’s programme in European Humanities from the Universities of Sheffield, Perpignan and Bergamo. She can speak fluent French, Italian and Hindi, and also has a basic knowledge of Arabic, Tagalog and Tamil.
