Challenges: Presenting huge volumes of dense, scientific information in a concise manner
Solutions: Segregated the various streams of information; developed simple yet comprehensive tables and graphs to present them, in collaboration with the biologist-author
Goal: To document the stories of inspiring Emirati women for a UAE federal organization, breaking global stereotypes of women in the Arab world
Challenges: Selecting the women to be featured from over thousands of potential candidates; creating a robust narrative concept while retaining a sense of feminity
Solutions: Organized an expert advisory committee for selection; developed a journalistic-style narrative to powerfully capture the women’s voices, against the backdrop of a botanical-themed, Arabesque design
Goal: To create an anniversary book celebrating the half-century of Dubai Chamber
Challenges: Distilling a wide range of achievements into a compact narrative
Solutions: Tied in the story of the chamber with the larger story of Dubai, developing a comprehensive narrative under the themes ‘vision’, ‘commerce’, ‘momentum’ and ‘innovation’
Goal: To create a book celebrating ten years of Dubai’s Arabian Resort, Madinat Jumeirah
Challenges: Capturing a grander sense of the resort’s achievements, rather than creating a promotional piece
Solutions: Paired expository texts about the hotel’s key features with unique stories from its ‘backstage crew’ to create a seamless narrative
